The Misty Fjords National Monument is a 2.3 million-acre piece of pristine wilderness that must be viewed by floatplane to truly take in its majesty: soaring cliffs, saw-tooth ridges blanketed in trademark mists, sky-blue lakes, endless waterfalls, icy saltwater fjords and miles of glacier-carved gorges.
While you take in the enormity of the Misty Fjords National Monument from above, you will listen to information on the area, as well as appropriate music over your noise-reducing headphones. While taking you on the most scenic flight possible based on that day's weather conditions, your pilot will keep an eye open for wildlife below. While wildlife spotting is never guaranteed on the Ketchikan tour, keep scanning the scenery below, where you may see creatures big and small, from burly brown bears to agile mountain goats; from harbor seals to humpback whales. Depending on the visibility that day, your pilot usually tries to stay approximately 1000 feet above the scenery, offering you the best up-close view from a safe distance. The maximum altitude reached is approximately 4,000 feet above sea level. A water landing on a mountain lake for photos and reflection is included.

Restrictions
Persons between 269 and 299 pounds must purchase a seat and 1/2. Persons weighing over 300 lbs must purchase an extra seat. Guests under the age of 18 must have a legal guardian to sign their waiver. Infants under two years old may attend the tour free of charge, however, the infant must sit on one paying adult's lap and only two infants are legally permitted on each flight. In that role, Mr. Miller was responsible for contributing to Abercrombie & Kent's international growth through the development and acquisition of tour products and travel experiences around the world with a specific focus on cruising and land based experiences. Prior to joining Abercrombie & Kent, Mr. Miller held a variety of executive positions with Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises for more than a decade. These positions included Vice President of Guest Sales & Service, Vice President of Brand Development, and Vice President of Onboard Revenue (which included shore excursions). Mr. Miller also led Celebrity Expeditions, a collection of outstanding and unique tours around the World.
Michael Bonner
Mr. Bonner has over a decade of experience working in the cruise industry in a variety of roles for both Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. and Viking River Cruises. Most recently, Mr. Bonner was the Chief Operating Officer for The Scholar Ship, a Royal Caribbean program aimed at providing college students onboard educational programs in conjunction with enriching shore excursions around the world. Mr. Bonner also helped co-manage Viking River Cruises U.S. Operations, and he ran the corporate, strategic, and deployment planning functions at Royal Caribbean. While at Royal Caribbean, Mr. Bonner was responsible for forming Royal Celebrity Tours, Royal Caribbean's land-based tour operation in Alaska, which takes cruise passengers on multiple day tours through the interior of Alaska either before or after their cruises.
